Hello, I am Ashlan.

Allow me to introduce myself—I'm the creator behind the lens of New Leaf Photography. I started this venture in 2022, driven by one simple spark, one hope that I’ve held onto since my sophomore year of high school, and I finally decided to turn that spark into something real.

Photography has always been my passion, but what I’ve come to realize recently is that it’s more than just about capturing images—it’s about discovering beauty in all things. I’m captivated by the moments that make life adventurous, fun, and full of love. The best part? I get to preserve those moments from my own perspective, sharing them with you through both prints and digital images. To me, that’s the heart of what I do.

As for who I am —I graduated from Jamestown Community College with a degree in Media Arts. During my two years there, I connected with black and white film photography, something I hope t o incorporate into this lovely little business of mine. There’s something about being in a darkroom, developing film and prints that connects me to myself in a way nothing else does.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m at home with my two cats, who are my world or out with my family and friends making my own memories. I love crafting, working with my hands, and transforming materials into something beautiful. In my downtime, you’ll probably find me binge-watching Law & Order SVU or New Girl, sipping coffee in my favorite local coffee shop, or maybe even purchasing more books that I plan to read but don't actually touch for years.

I promise to bring my passion, goofiness, and artistic flair to whatever session we have together.
